Creative Writing Task- I NOW HAVE A MANSION

I wake up in my bed. Hmmm… comfortable. Almost…TOO comfortable. I look around. This isn’t my bed. This looks like a RICH PERSON’S bed…and I’m in silk pyjamas! These aren’t my pyjamas! I look around some more. This isn’t my ROOM. There are huge windows everywhere and big gold and blue curtains framing them. The king-sized majestic bed I’m in is on a platform in the middle of the 90×90 room. HOW ON EARTH DID I GET HERE? There are two other rooms attached to the one I’m in. I go to the one on the left first. A HUGE bathroom with TWO bathtubs! This is an EN-SUITE! This is definitely not my house. I go to the room on the right, and it is a gigantic CLOSET! Gucci and Prada purses surrounded a corner of the room. At the bottom was a row of all sorts of expensive shoes; Louis Vuitton, Stuart Weitzman and, again, Gucci. Then I turn to see the beautiful dresses, pants and shirts on one side of the closet. Whoever owned this stuff must be really, REALLY RICH.

I hear someone call from down the stairs.

“Miss, your breakfast is ready!” Is that a butler? I go through the ginormous hallway, and eventually, find my way to the 5-meter wide staircase and go down. It leads me to the entrance with a golden chandelier hanging from the ceiling. I turn to the right. A very pretty dining/living room area is in front of me. I see the butler come through the arch leading to what appears to be the kitchen. “It’s eggs and pancakes, as you asked, miss!” He’s tall and is wearing fancy black pants and a black tuxedo-type thing. Stereo-typical butler wear.

“Um— Yes, thank you,” I reply. Now I am just super confused. How does this guy know me? Or even better— WHY AM I IN A MANSION? A woman walks in from the arch with plates filled with food, to go put it on the small table in the middle of the big room with a fancy dining table. She must be the servant. She comes to a stop when she looks up to see me.

“Oh, dear! You look sick, I’ll go make you some warm honey tea! Also, you never come down in your pyjamas! Is everything alright?” She asks.

“Yes, yes. I’m fine. Just didn’t sleep much,” I say, looking around. Beside the small table with my breakfast on it is a big living room with a 70 inch TV.

“You look distracted… Well, anyway, sit down! A big breakfast will give you plenty of energy!” The servant says, and with that, she goes through the arch and into the kitchen. I still don’t know her name! I sit down, in front of pancakes and eggs. There is toast on the side, with butter and jam.

“Oh, I’ll turn on the news!” The butler says. He goes to put on the TV in the living room. The butler turns on a channel. Actually, it’s a channel I’ve never seen before.

I see a news reporter with a 1990’s type hairstyle. I see they’re trying to bring THAT back, now! What next, leg warmers and leotards? Then the screen changes to a paparazzi trying to take a picture of someone… I can’t tell who. It looks like a woman, with curly blond hair…

Then I see words pop up on the screen:

LADY DIANA TRYING TO GET TO A CONFERENCE.

What on EARTH?! Lady Diana died YEARS ago!

“Ah, yes! Lady Diana. I love her!” Says the butler. I keep watching, trying to understand what is happening. After about 2 minutes, it switches to a different show. Again, a news reporter with the 90’s hairstyle!

“We are all excited for the Olympics 1992! As we all know, this will be happening in Barcelona!” The reporter says enthusiastically.

1992? I nearly choke on my toast.

“Are you ok, miss?” Asks the butler, looking at me awkwardly.

“Yes! I’m just—um—really excited for the Olympics, too!” I lie. The 1992 Olympics happened when I was 3!

As I watch the news(in confusion), I attempt to grab another toast but realize I have already eaten the second one. As a result, my hand bangs on the porcelain plate and creates a CLaAang! The butler whips his head from the TV right back to me.

“Sorry,” I say, awkwardly. “I wasn’t looking.”

“Miss, are you sure everything’s alright?”

“Of course! I’ll just go take a… bath,” I say with a smile, trying to get out of this situation. I go up the stairs, run through the hallway for about half an hour until I find the master bedroom in which I woke up. I go to the en-suite bathroom and take a bubble bath.

When I hear the doorbell shortly after I get out of the tub, I go downstairs and almost open the door, until I see the butler come towards it.

“Oh, miss, I insist! I’ll take the door.”

The butler opens the door, and I see…

MICHAEL JACKSON?

All of a sudden I’m back in… my bed… My original bed, in my original room, and I realized it was all just a dream. Actually, it was a nice mansion, and I’ve always wanted to see Michael Jackson, so I actually wouldn’t of minded staying in that dream for a couple of minutes longer…

My Exhilarating Reading Project

Helooo! It’s me… Bianca.

This week— well, about two and a half weeks ago— we started a reading project. We had to read a book of our choice(Not a 4-year-old picture book) and… read it. I know, crazy, right? 🙂 So, I had already started reading a good book when my teacher told my class about this project. I was around page 20, so it didn’t count as cheating if I read it for the project. The book I read is called Quarantine: A Love Story. It is by Katie Cicatelli Cuk. I had already read her other novel before, entitled Going Viral. I loved it, so I bought the other book she wrote, that was actually written before Going Viral. What was interesting about Quarantine: A Love Story is that the ‘chapters’ were from the two main characters’ points of view, each one at a time. So it would be one chapter, one character talking and thinking from their point of view, and then it would switch to the other character, and so on.

Anyway, after we were finished the book, we were supposed to do an ‘artifact’. This means we would choose between the choices of stuff to do for the ‘project part’ of this project. We could either make a video explaining the book, board games, podcasts, childrens’ books, etc. I chose the podcast choice. Basically, you have to make three episodes, each one three minutes, talking about your book, your opinion on the book, introducing the characters, everything like that. This sounded like a fun idea, so I did it. I felt like a podcast would be a good way to say how I felt about the book, and get my opinion through to other people. For people who haven’t read the book, I wanted to make them feel like they kind of did. In my podcast, I included my opinion on specific things characters said and A LOT of critiques to what characters should have said.😋 I also thought this would be a good idea to do this artifact because it’s like my own real podcast!

Maybe what I could have done better is be more organized with my reading/podcast writing schedule. The THEME of the book is, I think, finding love in the most unexpected place. Maybe also because they describe Oliver, a character in the book, as kind of always nervous, but Flora, the other character in the book, still liked him. Maybe that can also be the other theme— Don’t judge a book by its cover, or, in this instance, don’t judge a person’s personality by how they act. Maybe, it can be a guy who looks like a pig, but it is really, really kind!

Anyway, that was it for this week, and I’ll see you next time! Bye!

Ninja School

I walk out of the house. I’m thinking of doing a quick walk. Then, I see something sticking out of the mailbox. I go to take it out. I open what appears to be a letter. Inside it, it’s an invitation to a ninja school! I didn’t even know that was a thing! I mean, I’m not even ‘qualified’ to be a ninja. But… Maybe this is for my brother. Maybe I shouldn’t be looking at this letter. Maybe it’s a top-secret thing. But then I look at the bottom of the paper. It says my name. In the letter, they also mention not telling anyone about this. All I am thinking right now is how this is happening. And then I realize, It’s probably just a prank from someone. But the letter also has coordinates. Even though this may not even be real, I guess it would be a fun experience to see where the mystery person wants me to go.

With the help of the internet, I follow the coordinates. It turns out that the location wasn’t too far from my house, so I biked there. It took about five minutes. When I arrive, I’m confused, because all I see in front of me is an old-looking abandoned shack. I know this is probably a really stupid thing to do, but I go in. My mom always told me to not go anywhere, or to anyone, without knowing the consequences. Plus, my parents don’t even know I’m here. When I step in, I see just black. No light. As I was about to leave, a portal opens. It’s a rather small portal, but who am I to judge, I haven’t seen a ‘rather big’ portal before, either. You know, portal measurement isn’t really one of my strongest points.

Anyway, this startles me, so I fall back onto a stack of hay and…Horse slobber? The portal is now changing colors from blue, pink, orange and green. Suddenly, the portal turns all black. At this point, I was too curious. I step in. Now forming in front of me is a huge black school. I guess this wasn’t a prank, after all!

I walk forward, until a swarm of student ninjas do tricks, blocking my path. I say hello(Well, I say hi), weirdly, but the students carry on with their circus stuff. Finally, they finish, and they pose. They clear the path, and I continue towards the school. All of a sudden, one of the students came to walk beside me. “So you are the new student”. I recognize the voice of a girl. Then another student comes from the other side. This time a boy. “People have been talking about you,” He says. So this was all planned? I don’t answer them. I can’t. I’m so shocked by what just happened. Maybe this is one of those realistic dreams or a really good quality VR machine. I try to pinch myself. It doesn’t really hurt, but just because I’m weak. Another sign it’s not a dream is that I read the big sign on the school. The Ninjaworld Ninja School. I manage to ask why there is the word ninja twice, and the girl answers, “I know, it’s stupid.” The boy gives me a real answer. “This place is called Ninjaworld. And all schools in Ninjaworld are for Ninjas. So the school’s name could just be The Ninjaworld School, and the most annoying thing is that there is no other school with that name in Ninjaworld.”

We get to the main double doors. There is a keypad beside them. The girl types at least twenty-five things in. The door opens. “Wow, how did you memorize that password?” “It’s pretty easy. It’s just Ninjas are the best, so go ninjas.” The boy gives some sort of signal to the girl.

“Oh, right. I’m Celia. That’s Ronny. We’re in your class.”

When the bell rings, Celia and Ronny walk me to the class. It’s nothing like my school. It looks like Gym class! My favourite class! But it’s not in a Gym… It’s just a normal room. “This is our first class…Training. This is how we get all warmed up and stretched for the day,” Celia explains. “Oh! It looks like our new student, Sarah, has arrived!” A teacher says. “My name is Sensei Norah, well, you can call me Mrs.Norah. This is Sensei Lee. He is the second training teacher.” I tell her that this is probably a mistake, and my family is waiting for me at home.

“Oh, don’t be silly! Your time is paused when you enter the Ninjaworld,” She says like it’s the most obvious thing ever. At least that’s good to know, but I’m still thinking of so many questions. Will this ninja school replace my usual school? The ‘sensei’ gives me a ninja outfit thing, and I go put it on in the change room. I get back to the class, and I meet up with Celia and Ronny. I have no idea what I’m doing, so I just follow whatever everyone else is doing. I whisper to Celia while everyone is punching the air.

“So how is this gonna work? I have a life in another world. I can’t just pause it.” Celia smiles.

“We set up a robot for you in your world. For now, it’s paused, but when you adapt to this school and world, We will unpause it and your robot will just act like you and live your normal life.” My jaw drops.

“I’M GOING TO LIVE HERE FOREVER?” I ask—or scream. “Who wouldn’t want to? It’s great here,” Celia responds like she’s used to people being shocked.

“No. I can’t stay here. I have a family, and I am not going to give it up for…A ninja school.”

Celia does some kind of flip. I don’t do it.

“Fine,” She says. “We’ll try the other way. You live your normal life, and each Sunday at 7 you come here and leave at 8. You need to learn these ninja skills. It will protect you.” Then she says, “We’ll delete your robot.”

And just like that, this school was my new favourite place.

THE END.

Online Hebrew learning

Online Hebrew learning is hard, because in school in person, when there are worksheets we just get them right away, but with online learning, you have to print it or write it on your computer. My dad even got a new printer for online school because we need it so much.
It’s also way more screen time and children are already too much on screen.
The worst issue for me is the loading and tech problems. I’m sure a lot of students have that same issue. I already had a laptop from last year, but for younger students, they usually are too young for their VERY OWN computer, unless the parent wants to pay $600. The easiest part is, apart from all the books and stuff at school, at home you have everything you need!
I like more in person classes because it is easier for me. I wish we could all have computers that are as fast as lightning :).

My Science experiment!

Hellllllooooooo! It’s me AGAIN. Your favourite blogger! 🥰

So today we did a natural phenomena experiment. We built a structure and Recreated a natural phenomena and saw how it affected the house or building. I did a hurricane. my hypothesis was that it would break. Here is the video:

Observations: The cardboard got a little wet but it stayed up!

Materials: Straws, clay, Popsicle sticks, tape and cardboard.

Procedure:

  1.  I put clay in a square shape
  2.  I put Popsicle sticks on the clay
  3.  I put cardboard as the floor
  4.  I put cardboard as the second floor
  5. I put cardboard as the roof

Where I see myself in 20 years!

This is how I picture myself in 20 years: I am a singer and interior designer, I live in LA because I love LA and who knows if I will ever meet a celebrity? I will also live in nice modern house. I will have a kid, if it’s a girl I will name her Naomi and if it’s a boy I will name him…Well, I don’t know yet. I will have a little poodle named Coco. I will visit New York, Las Vegas and Israel. My husband would be either a younger version of Robert Pattinson or Chris Hemsworth.😋

I will feed my pet coco dog snacks that look like flowers. I will also build her a dog house and buy her her own bed. Her bed will be turquoise with pink pompoms all around it. I will also be a part-time youtuber. There will be palm trees surrounding my house and I will even have my own Game room! In the backyard, I will have a pool and a trampoline. In my basement, I’ll have an air hockey table, and in another part of the house I’ll have a gym.
